Summer Wood Bat Season 2025

Our Wood Bat League continues to grow and flourish. The league attracts a wide range of active

players resulting in a very competitive level of play. This isn't your company softball team. If you've

been looking for a baseball league in metro Atlanta, then look no further!

Here are the plans for this summer.

Field Location

All games are played at the Brook Run Park Baseball Fields, where we have two artificial turf

fields. Referred to by their relative locations, our East Field is 355' to center while the West Field is

smaller at 315' to center with an 8' fence, making it more challenging even for power hitters.

Schedule

Each team in the the Summer Wood Bat League will play 12 regular season games. Playoff format and schedule will be determined at the end of the season. Teams will generally play one game during the week and one on Sundays. Weekday games begin at 8 pm to allow for ease in scheduling and so players can better plan their work and/or summer school schedules. Sunday games will be in the afternoon and evening with start times depending on the number of teams in the league. The season will start in mid-June and run through early-August.

Eligibility

Registration is open to rising high school seniors (Class of 2026) and older.

Team Registration

We encourage complete teams to register as a team. The fee to register a team is $2,950. The League considers 12-14 to be an ideal number of players per team, depending on team member work schedules. You can register your team by clicking here.

Rules

We use wooden/composite wooden bats which are provided by the League. Participants can use their own wooden bats at their own risk for breakage. High school rules, with some modifications, are used. Contact is to be avoided when ever possible. Click here for full rules

Special Note on the artificial turf fields: No metal cleats are allowed. Players must use turf (synthetic) cleats, or tennis shoes (not recommended). Players found to be using metal cleats will be ejected from the game and the park.
Also, no sunflower seeds, shelled peanuts or gum allowed on the field, in the dugout or in the spectator area. The league considers this the responsibility of the teams - coaches and players - to enforce.

Behavior

All players will conduct themselves appropriately at all times, on or off the field. Players that fail to do so may be asked to leave the league or, if their behavior warrants it, reported to the City of Dunwoody police.

There will be absolutely no drinking alcohol, smoking or illegal substance use permitted by any player, coach or other team member at the park. Illegal activity will be reported to the City of Dunwoody police.

Fees/Uniforms

Team fees are $2,950. This includes liability insurance, lights, umpires, field preparation, balls, wooden/composite bats, helmets, catcher’s Close

gear, etc. Teams are responsible for shirts and hats. Shirts must have numbers. Contact the Summer League Director to check on colors and for suggestions on where to order. Team names must be approved in advance by the Summer League Director. Players are not allowed to wear shorts during a game.

Individual players can register for $25 (non-refundable) and attend Evaluations on Sunday, June 5. Qualified players will be chosen by existing teams to fill in their rosters.

No Pay = No Play

No individual player or pre-formed team will be allowed to practice or play games if they have not paid their registration fees. Pay when you register.

Individual players that need financial assistance should contact the league about available scholarships.
