Since 1975, Dunwoody Senior Baseball has provided a place for middle and high school aged boys to play baseball in Dunwoody. Started for boys too old to play Little League, the program has grown to also include a Spring middle school league, Summer colleg

Summer Wood Bat Season 2017

The summer college league continues to grow and flourish.  The league attracts a wide range of active players - high school, college and beyond.  The level of play is excellent and the competition is very good.  Here are the plans for this summer.

Field Location

Dunwoody Senior Baseball has 2 fields with lights that are in Dunwoody Park. The park is located just south of the Dunwoody Nature Center and behind the City of Dunwoody fire station on Roberts Drive.  Entrance to the park is on the south side of the fire station.  Click here for a map.

Each team in the the Summer Wood Bat League plays one game during the week and one on Sundays.  Weekday games begin at 7:30 pm or 8 pm to allow for ease in scheduling and so players can better plan their work and/or summer school schedules.

Players who graduated from high school beginning in 2006 through rising high school seniors (Class of 2018) are eligible to play. You may not be older than 30 years old when the season ends.

Team Registration

We encourage complete teams to register as a team.  The League will place individual players on existing teams or form additional teams if there are enough individual players.   The goal is to play baseball.  The League considers 12-14 to be an ideal number depending on team member work schedules.  Please contact Jerry Weiner at if you have all or part of a team to register.

We use wooden/composite wooden bats which are provided by the League.  Participants can use their own wooden bats at their own risk for breakage.  High school rules, with some modifications, are used.  Metal cleats are allowed.  Contact is to be avoided when ever possible.

All players will conduct themselves appropriately at all times, on or off the field.  Players that fail to do so may be asked to leave the league or, if their behavior warrants it, reported to the City of Dunwoody police.

There will be absolutely no drinking alcohol, smoking or illegal substance use permitted by any player, coach or other team member at the park. Illegal activity will be reported to the City of Dunwoody police.

Individual player registration is $175, payable when you register.  Fees are $1,800/per team.  This will include liability insurance, lights, umpires, field preparation, balls, wooden/composite bats, helmets, catcher’s gear, etc.  The league will provide shirts and hats for up to 14 players/team.  Teams who provide their own uniforms will receive a $300 credit.  Uniforms must be approved in advance of the season by the Summer League Director.

Individual Players

The League will assign players who are not part of a pre-formed team to a team that needs players.  If there are enough players without a team, the League will form a team of such players.  If you are interested please send an email to Jerry Weiner, Summer League Director,  Include your phone number and a brief description of your recent baseball activity.
